A note on using Generative AI (GenAI) in your application...

We recognise that GenAI is a helpful tool. However, we are also seeing identical answers across multiple applications. UUK is actively exploring the responsible implementation of Gen AI to realise its potential to support work. Our current guidance for GenAI for UUK staff, which will be helpful for you to consider in your application is:

Acceptable Use

• To gain an overview of a topic for general understanding
• To generate ideas
• Creating initial drafts
• Provoke thought or discussion
• Grammar and spell checking (however for publication for an external audience a team member should review)

Not acceptable Use

• Final grammar and spell check before publishing
• It is never acceptable for any content to be completely generated by AI, both external and internal facing.
